Our practice nurse Amanda provides general travel advice and vaccinations and can arrange for prescriptions for anti-malarial tablets. It is important that you inform them of all the countries you are visiting

For advice on the vaccinations you need prior to seeing one of our practice nurse please download and complete the Travel Risk form or come into the surgery to collect one, prior to your appointment with Amanda

Vaccinations

It can take several weeks for some vaccinations to become effective, after they have been given. We therefore ask you to see the Practice Nurse at least six weeks prior to travel. Some vaccinations are free of charge, but there are some for which there is a charge, see information below.

Yellow Fever vaccinations can be arranged through Gompels Pharmacy in Melksham.

Anti-malarial tablets

Anti-malarial tablets are not available on the NHS but we can issue private prescriptions, (the chemist charges for the cost of the tablets and the dispensing costs) for these. Please be aware that most anti-malarial tablets needed to be started prior to your departure and continued on your return

All other standard travel vaccines (eg Typhoid) are provided free of charge. (*Not kept in stock – will need to be ordered in when needed.)
